Bible Reading Commitment, Encouragement, and Challenge
May 30 – Psalm 55, Jeremiah 10, Job 13, Acts 6
Observe with some (Interpretation in Parentheses)
- Focusing on Jeremiah 10
- As I meditated on this chapter, my zeal for Christian ministry was rejuvenated and renewed
- Despite the hard work and trials, Christian ministry is so worth it because of the greatness of the One True God
- Idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field
- They cannot speak
- They cannot walk
- They cannot do anything – good or evil
- There is NONE like the Lord, great and mighty and wise
- The Lord is the One True God, the living God and everlasting King
- All of creation quakes before God’s glory and the nations cannot endure the power of God
- All idols are worthless
- There is only One True God! (who is worthy to be praised and worshiped among all the nations!)
How Points to Christ
- The glory and wisdom of God is seen not only in creation, but in redemption
- God planned to save sinful people through the Gospel of Jesus Christ
- God’s glory, greatness, wisdom, and power are even more in bringing about new creation in Jesus
- Only God is worthy to be worshiped through Jesus
Apply
- Please pray that I would regularly see the unique glory of God as compared to all other idols and worldviews and religions in this world
- The Lord is the only One True God
- Please pray that I would respond in worship and praise
- And then please pray that I would simply overflow in proclaiming His supremacy among all the nations for the joy of all peoples
